6 For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. 6 I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices. I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings

The context of this passage is that Jesus and his disciples walked through a grain field on the Sabbath. They were hungry, so they grabbed and ate some of the grain.
